Ganapathi Hoblidar
Grant Period: Over one year
Ganapathi Hoblidar will revitalize the local Cluster Resource Centre through a series of arts-based activities. Ganapathi plans to transform the cluster resource centre into a hub for local arts and folk cultures, while activating it as a repository for materials related to the arts that teachers and students can actively use in their classrooms. The cluster centre will also host workshops and discussions for teachers, and training in theatre, dance, visual arts and other arts for students. Through these series of activities Ganapathi hopes to use the arts to re-energise the community’s relationship with education and school culture and bring multiple stakeholders—teachers, School Development and Monitoring Committees (SDMC), students—together to address social, cultural, and educational challenges of the surrounding tribal community.
This grant is made possible with support from Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan Bangalore.
