For the implementation of a Foundation Project by IFA that will engage fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students of Government Higher Primary School in Ulayibettu, Dakshina Kannada district with the project titled – Maavu Naavu (Mango and Us). The project will explore the art-integrated learning possibilities by considering the Mango and its ecosystem, and connecting it to their curriculum in languages and environmental science. The outcome of this project will be a series of performances in the school premise. The Project Coordinator’s deliverables to IFA with the final report will include still and video documentation of the process and the series of performance. Project funds will pay for contract fees, travel and living, food, performance, materials, documentation, and stationery.

The project, titled Chandada Badukige Ondu Putta Udugore (A Small Gift for A Beautiful Life), will enable students to have a deeper understanding of male and female anatomy with specific focus on the female body in the context of menstruation and menstrual health. The outcomes of the project will be a series of performances, an exhibition and a publication. The Project Coordinator’s deliverables to IFA with the final report will be the publication, photographs, and video documentation of the entire project including the performance and exhibition. Project funds will pay for contract fees, travel and living, performance, material, consumables, hire of equipment and documentation.
For the implementation of a Foundation Project by IFA that will engage sixth and seventh grade students of the Government Higher Primary School, in Moodambail village in Dakshina Kannada district in a project titled Chiv Chiv Hakkiyuu mattu Haaruva Chitteyu (Hums of Birds and Flying Butterflies). They will learn and document the names of birds, reptiles, and plants in their local dialect in an attempt to bridge their curriculum of science, language and social science. The outcomes of the project will be an illustrated dictionary, a series of performances, an exhibition and a publication. The Project Coordinator’s deliverables to IFA with the final report will be the dictionary, the publication and photographs and video documentation of the entire project including the performance and exhibition. Project funds will pay for workshop, travel, performance, contract fees, publication and stationery.
For a series of arts-based exploratory learning modules for eighth-grade students of the Government PU College (High School division), Sullia, Dakshina Kannada district. The project will involve students in exploring and documenting the community ritual practice of Bhutaradhane and its literary component the Pardanas, which represent the cultural identity of the Tuluva community. The outcomes of the project will be a publication and a performance. The Grantee’s deliverables to IFA along with the final report will be a copy of the publication, photographs, and video documentation of the project. Grant funds will pay for honorarium, printing, professional fees, performance, workshop, documentation, materials and an accountant’s fee.

The project will involve fifth-grade students to learn English through various literary and theatre arts processes that explore the local history of the freedom struggle against the British colonisers in 1834. The outcome of the project will be a performance, an exhibition and a publication. For a series of arts-based exploratory learning modules at the Government Higher Primary School, Belandoor, Dakshina Kannada district. The project will enable seventh-grade students to explore the ecosystem of a local river, Kumaradhara. Drawing on content from their geography, mathematics, language and science syllabi, students will attempt to learn about the journey of the river, the flora and fauna around it, and its centrality in the environment of the region. They will be encouraged to respond through their creative expressions. The outcome of this project will be an exhibition and a publication. The Grantee’s deliverables to IFA with the final report will be a copy of the publication, photographs and video documentation of the project. For a series of arts-based exploratory learning modules at the Government Model Higher Primary School, Kalladka, Dakshina Kannada district. The project will involve 30 students in various engagements to understand, analyse, and critique different aspects of the performing arts and enable them to write about it. The outcome will be a bi-monthly arts newsletter created by the students. The Grantee’s deliverables to IFA along with the final report will be copies of the publication, photographs and video documentation of the project. Grant funds will pay for honorarium, printing, workshop, professional fees, travel, postal charges, documentation and an accountant’s fee.
For a series of arts-based experiential learning modules at the Government Higher Primary School, in Papemajalu village in Dakshina Kannada district. In this project, mathematics will be taught by using theatre techniques and the popular regional form of Yakshagana-Talamaddale. Theatre scripts and riddles will be built around concepts and themes in mathematics. The outcome will be a stage performance in the presence of teachers and community members. The Grantee's deliverables to IFA with the Final Report will include photographs and video documentation of the project. Grant funds will pay for costs towards professional fees, material, performance, resource persons’ fees, refreshment, documentation, travel, printing, and an accountant’s fee.
For support towards sixth grade students from the Government Higher Primary School, Kolcharu, Sullia Taluk, Dakshina Kannada District to explore texts from the school syllabus and interpreting it through theater plays in Kannada and English Language. The outcome will be a stage performance which will be presented at two to three school venues in the neighbourhood. The Grantee's deliverables to IFA with the final report will include photographs from the workshops, and audio video recording of the performance. Grant funds will pay for honorarium, workshop costs, performance costs, professional fees, documentation costs, and an accountant’s fee.
